They are a very famous dance group in Taiwan and have toured all over the world but this is the first time in Belize: The Diabolo Dance Theatre troupe is here for a special one night only show at the Bliss. Now, Diabolo which is spelled D-I-A_B-O-L-O is a toy, sort of like a yo-yo - and the dancers masterfully juggle and do all kinds of impressive moves with the diabolo but with a classy and refined finish. The show started at 7:00 but we stopped by for rehearsals this afternoon and here is a snippet of the show.
The show ends at 9:00 tonight. This visit is part of a 4-country tour. Their next stop is Honduras. The show was organized to celebrate the 108th National Day of the Republic of China Taiwan, the 38 years of Belize's Independence as well as the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belize and Taiwan.
