Police Strike a Pose
posted (March 25, 2020)

Taking a cue from the KHMH medical staff, the senior command of the police department today sent their COVID-19 awareness message, by striking a pose, with a purpose.

Knelling atop Independence Hill, Commissioner Chester Williams and his top officers "We are here for you, work with us, lets make Belize COVID-19 free."

A charming picture, emulating the KHMH one, and confirming that Corona is definitely Belize's least wanted international fugitive.

Finnegan Market Will Remain Open, For Now

Yesterday, when we were at the Michael Finnegan market, we heard a lot fo concerns about whether the market would be closing because of social distancing regulations.  Well, today the Belize City Council announced that the market will remain open on what it calls a day to day basis.  The council urges customers to practice social distancing and says it will try to keep crowds in the market to 25 at a time.

From our observations at the market yesterday, we would say social distancing was not widely observed but COVID awareness was high.
