And while that family is fighting for more testing, Police are fighting to have few people test positive.

This weekend, the cops had to arrest and charged 188 people countrywide for breaking the State of Emergency rules.

128 people were charged for failing to properly wear a face mask while in public. 52 were charged for breaching the curfew. 7 were charged for failing to practice proper social distancing, and a pastor in Santa Cruz, Toledo was charged for allowing a gathering at his church of more than 10 people.

This morning, Police Commissioner Chester Williams shared a few more details during a press briefing in Belmopan:

Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police
"Over the weekend, I think we had over 180 persons who were arrested for various offenses under the SOE regulations. The majority of those persons were charged for failure to wear a mouth and nose covering. I think there were 128 of those. And then, the second most arrest was in relation to curfew, persons who breached the curfew. And, we had one person who was charged, who was a pastor, for having more the required 10 persons in a church. This occurred in Santa Cruz, Toledo District."

"The police officers visited the church - I think it was 7:55 p.m, which was 5 minutes before the curfew hour. And, inside the church were 16 persons, when the law states that it should be no more than 10. And based on that the pastor of the church was arrested."

"We continue to see breaches of the regulations by some factions of our society, and as a department, we continue to do what we can do to ensure that we get the people to comply with the SOE. After all, we believe that it was put in place to safeguard each everyone one of us and our country."

"We just have some people in our society who don't care. They just do as they please, and at the end of the day, when they are caught by the police, they're going to feel the consequence of their action."
