And while all those Belizeans were busted for violating the SOE rules, the Commissioner was pleased to report that there were no border jumpers detected this weekend.
But, there was enforcement in the country's contraband hotspots. Here's what the ComPol had to say about several weekend police operations, in which contraband goods were seized from persons insisting on participating in the trade:

"I must say that along with the border areas, we had a very good weekend. The teams we have along the border did several operations, going after those persons who we believe are involved in the contraband trade, and over the weekend, we seized a number fo contraband goods. And, a number of persons were detained, and are still in custody, well in quarantine now. And those persons, upon completion of quarantine, will be charged under the regulations for border jumping, and then, they'll go to court from there. But, as I said, we must take the issue of the border area seriously, and we must make people understand along with the border areas that we have had enough of them going across the border, and coming back to the country, putting our people at risk. And so, the operations In those areas are going to continue. We seized some additional canoes over the weekend, and again, once we go in the area, and we see those canoes in those landing spots, we're going to confiscate them. And then, we see how we go from there."
We've seen these photographs of mega colas, Dos Equis beers, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, which were confiscated as part of the anti-contraband effort by the cops this weekend.
They include 37 cans of Superior beer, 30 cans of Tecate Beer, 10 bottles of Tecate Beer, 10 bottles of the Big Cola soft drinks, 62 bottles of Dos Equis beers, two 2.5 litre bottles of the Coca Cola, 1 bottle of Bellita beer, another bottle of Big Cola soft drink, 1 bottle of Del Valle Orange Drink, and 3 bottles of Cana Real Rum.
