An American couple caught with 6 grams of cannabis at the PGIA on Sunday, were charged jointly for the importation of controlled drugs. William and Cranesha Gaynor, both 36 year old US citizens who flew in from Texas for a vacation in Belize, were escorted to the Belize City magistrates court this morning where they appeared unrepresented before the Chief Magistrate. They both pleaded guilty, but the husband, William Gaynor told the magistrate that the drugs belonged only to him. Despite the drugs being found in his wife's suitcase the prosecutor withdrew the charge against her. William Gaynor was fined $300 which he paid forthwith and left the court a free man.
