And while the matter of the convention is settled, the issue of Panton's party membership is being questioned by Shyne Barrow. Now, the judge clearly said she was unlawfully expelled but he refused to make a declaration on whether she remains a member of the UDP.
Speaking to the press at her divisional office, the three term rep said that can hardly be questioned:

"If it was not valid, I was not expelled, I was not constructively resigned, I am a member of the party. I ran under the UDP umbrella. I won under the UDP umbrella. I have been appointed as leader, as leader of the opposition under the UDP umbrella. I think you have the answer."
"It is not for any court to step within a membership organization, a political organization and tell the membership how it ought to be to conduct its affairs."
