So far, 2008 has been one of the deadliest years on record in Belize City. 20 murders compared to 11 in the same period last year. And while the murder total is nearly double, the number of arrests has only increased slightly. But police hope to increase that arrest rate when they track down a number of wanted men. On Monday, the Crimes Investigation Branch issued wanted posters for four men wanted in connection with murders and attempted murders that occurred between January twenty seventh and April fifth.

The suspects are 21 year old Herbert Faber wanted for the murder of Jeremy Gibson; nineteen year old Charles Castillo Aka Wang wanted for the murder of Tyrone Castellanos; twenty seven year old Randolph Samuels also known as Dylan Sheran aka Yankee Fresh who is wanted for the attempted murder of Delroy Matura; and Brandon Taylor who is wanted for the attempted murder of Carl Bradley.

According to the head of CIB in Belize City Supt. Aaron Guzman all wanted suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.

Supt. Aaron Guzman,
“It is our information he is still in the country of Belize and only yesterday we had a tip that we worked on and we appreciate the tips coming in and it seems to have been a good tip but we will keep working on it. We did visit with the mother and inquired of her, my officers inquired of her and told her what her son was wanted for and that it would be easier if he is just brought into the station or to a police station so that he goes through the process of being charged and appearing before the court.

Actually we went to Gales Point looking for him and we did not find him there so we keep on looking for him. Yes we believe he is still in Belize.

Brandon Taylor is wanted for the attempt murder of Carl Bradley which occurred over the weekend, Friday night and a team of my officers chased him on Sunday but they didn’t catch him so we’re still actively looking for him to be charged for the attempted murder against Mr. Bradley. Apparently Mr. Taylor was just shooting randomly on the Rocky Road area. He damaged some vehicles that were out there. They have damages on them from bullets.”
