Police have also caught the man they say was responsible for last week’s
armed robbery at the Sandhill Gas Station where three people were injured, one
of them shot in the face.
While police believe the armed robbery was committed by a group of men, today
one of those suspects was escorted to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court
where he was slapped with 12 counts. He is 18-year-old Nathaniel Alexander Bowen
Jr., an unemployed resident of 4 miles Western Highway. Bowen Jr., appeared
before the Chief Magistrate, Margaret Gabb McKenzie where he was slapped with
12 assorted charges, ranging from attempted robbery to attempted murder for
shooting two customers and the proprietor Bao Tang Wang and attempting to rob
the his daughter Jin Wang was also tending the store.
Thomas’ arrest came after police reviewed footage from a surveillance
camera at the store. Police expect to make other arrests. It’s worth noting
that just a few weeks ago, Bowen Jr. came before the court on a weed possession
charge. Pleaded guilty and was fined. |
