Government took over Telemedia 17 months ago - and the Board of Directors has undergone its first significant change. Anwar Barrow and Alan Slusher have moved on to make way for the two directors from the Social Security Board. As we understand it those Social Security directors have not yet been named.
Viewers will recall that in November the Social Security Board of Directors took a controversial decision to invest 50 million dollars in the phone company - giving the Board a 20% holding in Telemedia.
According to a Telemedia release, Anwar Barrow has chosen to leave the board to dedicate more time to his business and Slusher is leaving to take on more responsibility as a senior adviser to the Prime Minister.
