According to an email we've received the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) has nominated Belizean actor Kareem Ferguson for his role in a play called "Free Man of Color". According to the information, Ferguson played the role of John Newton Templeton, a real-life historical figure who was one of the first freed slaves to graduate from an American University. "Free Man of Color" was performed from August to September in 2010 in California to rave reviews.

Ferguson has performed on theater stages across the United States and has Television credits including popular TV shows such as Scrubs, Las Vegas and Deadline.
