BTL Broadband Woes Continue
Wed, July 2, 2014

BTL’s pitch line is about its stable, reliable broadband, but as we’ve reported for the past 10 days, it’s been anything but that.  The company has been fighting off an external attack on its DSL servers – but up to this morning it was a losing battle, leaving customers with no access to the internet or emails.

And now, you may have to get into your computer’s settings to make your internet work.  BTL sent out a notice today saying that, quote, “customers will be required to manually change the settings for their Primary and Secondary DNS on their desktop and laptop computers to have the changes automatically updated on their machines.â€￾  If you have no clue on how to do that – you’re not alone – and it’s not like you can go to YouTube for a tutorial because, if course, you probably have no access to the internet.

Fear not, BTL says it is putting together a tutorial that will provide the steps required for the change of DNS setting.

In the meantime, if you can do it, you should go into your computer’s settings and change the Primary DNS number to 190.197.37.154 and Secondary DNS to 200.32.248.1.  4G customers should just power off their phones and restart it to allow the changes to take effect.
