San Pedro Police are reporting tonight that they have almost a pound of cocaine in their possession after it was found in an intelligence-led operation.

This afternoon, based on information from Special Branch, officers went to Swan Street in San Pedro Town. There, they found a grey plastic bag in an abandoned lot. When the officers opened it, they found 373.7 grams – or 13 ounces – of cocaine inside. Because it couldn't be connected to anyone in the area, it was deposited as found property.

San Pedro police believe that it belongs to a known drug dealer who operates in the area. Of important note is that the approximate street value of the drugs is $15,000 thousand Belize dollars.
