Sweet Honey Harkens Back To Africa
Wed, August 27, 2014

If you appreciate African heritage and cultures then the Sweet Honey in the Rock concert is for you. Sweet Honey is an all-female acapella ensemble from the U.S here to perform as well as collaborate with Belizean artists on several presentations. Today one of the members of Sweet Honey discussed the diverse genres they capture through their performances.

Louis Robinson, Sweet Honey in the Rock Member

"We sing music at an African American tradition, Blues, Jazz, R&B, Gospel, civil rights songs or of the African biosphere. We do Salsa, African chants. We invite everyone to come and have a great time. It is an invitation, we think there will be a lot of different things to listen to, to feel, to think about, to share and to just have a good time with us."

The concert began tonight at the Bliss at 7. Sweet Honey will also be performing at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dangriga tomorrow and at Seine Bight Community Center on Saturday.
