She allegedly tried to smuggle weed into the Belize Central Prison, and tonight, 28 year-old Anna Garbutt, an unemployed of Mahogany Street, is out on bail.
Prison authorities say that she tried to smuggle a few grams of marijuana into the prison along with two plates of food. Normally, she would have been charged with drug possession, but because she tried to smuggle it into a correctional facility, she was charged for drug trafficking.
She was arraigned before Magistrate Ladonna John, and she pleaded not guilty. She was released on bail of $6,000, and she must return to court on October 7.
