The Magnificent Stela At Xunantunich |

Today, the Ministry of Culture invited the press to Xunantunich, in the Cayo District. The news is that the Department of Archaeology, in partnership with the Northern Arizona University, had been excavating one of the temples, when they made an exciting discovery.
It's a Stela which was buried under the overgrown forest which covered this temple. Now as viewers know, Stelae are the Maya's preserved historical record, which notes important events of that period, and this particular one tells the story of the wife of one of Rulers of the most successful Mayan City States.
