Anwar Says Adios, BTL Looking For New CEO |

The Prime Minister's son Anwar Barrow has attracted a storm of controversy in his two and a half years as Chairman of BTL's Executive Committee, effective working as the CEO of the state owned phone company. Well, just as he said he would, Anwar Barrow is leaving that office and said as much in a letter to staff a week ago. And there's no successor in place. This morning, BTL started advertising for the post of a new CEO, for a company, quote "with the goal of becoming one of the leading telecoms operators in the region by 2020."
The deadline for submissions is the end of this month, and on his departure from the top post, Barrow told employees that a candidate should be selected by year's end. Barrow will stay on as a member of the Board of Directors.
