Ben Abou-Nahra Charged for Killing Shawn Copious |

In September of last year, 30 year old businessman Ben Abou-Nahra shot and
killed 23-year-old Shawn Copious. At the time, police brought no charges, telling
us that they felt the use of force was justified because investigations showed
that Copious was in Abou-Nahra's yard.
Abou-Nahra told police that copious advanced on him in a menacing manner with,
of all things, a meat cleaver. Abou-Nahra says that is when drew his licensed
9 millimeter and killed Copious.
Abou-Nahra spent 48 hours in police custody, but was released without charges,
as police say investigations continue. Well those investigations continued until
today when police charged the now 31-year-old Ben Abou-Nahra for the manslaughter
of Shawn Copious. Bou-Nahra appeared with attorneys Kareem Musa and Ellis Arnold
and received $10,000 bail. He will re-appear on September first.
Beaten to Death in Roaring Creek
A Roaring Creek resident was beaten to death over the weekend. Police report
that around 11 pm on Saturday night they found the body of 44-year-old Hotis
Alexander Lopez at Raspect Tire Shop in the village. Police say Lopez got into
an argument with another male person and to settle it, Lopez was attacked and
beaten. One suspect is detained and investigations continue.
