34 year old stevedore Raymond Arnold succumbed to his injuries in the wee hours of the morning.

Around 7:15, Arnold was riding his bicycle on Central American Boulevard along with another person- also a stevedore. Both men were travelling from the direction of the Port of Belize to the Faber's Road junction when when a man on a motorcycle pulled up and shot Arnold from behind. At least two bullets hit their target. ARNOLD fell to the pavement unresponsive and was rushed to the hospital suffering from gunshot wounds to the right upper chest and the left lower abdomen.

But who would want a hard working stevedore dead? Well, the family firmly declined comment. And it might be for good reason. Street reports are that this may have been the result of a brewing gang rivalry, and that it may have something to do with the shooting of a home on Kraal Road two days ago. That incident left a 13 year old minor with a bullet graze.

By all indications, Raymond Arnold was not directly affiliated with the gang life but, according to reliable street reports, he may have had associates who are gang affiliated - and that made him a target.
