Airline President Says Local Investors Need Incentives
Fri, October 12, 2018
And keeping it on the business climate, earlier this week at the Mirab opening, the President of Tropic Air told us that for big local investors like his company or Mirab, there's no government incentive for those Belizeans who put tens of millions of dollars in the ground to re-invest in Belize.

John Grief III- President, Tropic Air
"I think there should be a ministerial level job that does nothing but promote people like Mirab. What roadblocks are you hitting with government - how can we help? Because these people don't have to invest here. They can take their money elsewhere."

"Often times the incentives and the special treatment is given to those who are coming from outside. But you guys who are inside who are pumping tens of millions of dollars into your company don't get the same treatment."

John Grief III- President, Tropic Air
"We are almost de-incentivized. This isn't a political thing. Both parties have got the same attitude."

At the end of July, Greif's company announced the 14 million dollar acquisition of two Cessna Grand Caravan EX's.
