Since 2013 we've been following the exhibit named, "The "Maya: Hidden World's Revealed". It's an exhibit of Belize's finest mayan antiquities moving across museums in the US. And now after travelling a cumulative 16 thousand plus miles form Belize City and then criss crossing the US, the exhibit is opening up at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday.
Archaeologist with NICH's institute of Archaeology Sylvia Batty its there to set it up - we spoke to her via Zoom:
Batty also spoke about the care taken in conserving the pieces when they are in motion:
The exhibit has been travelling for 8 years now going to cities such as Minnesota, Boston, Denver, San Antonio, Dallas and San Antonio. Over a million people have seen it.
