| Cops Catch Many Kilos Of Cannabis In Corozal |

They busted cocaine and weed on a bus yesterday, and by nightfall the northern deployment of the Mobile Interdiction team had struck again. This time, they busted over a hundred pounds of weed in an area known as "Smugglers Den".
Just before midnight, a special operation in that part of Consejo Village trained its attention on 2 Hispanic men on bikes, hauling two large black bundles coming from the nearby lagoon.
When the men saw the police, they dashed into the bushes. The officers set chase, but the men jumped off their bikes, dropped their cargo and escaped into the night. Police searched the 2 packages, and found 60 parcels of suspected marijuana.
They weighed in at 107 pounds - a typical haul from weed smuggled in from Mexico - which is much sought after in Belize.
