And while the government has a lot going on here in Belize, the Leader of the Opposition has been busy in the US, promoting all things Belizean.
Well, that's how he put it yesterday on the Wendy Williams show, where he was a guest. And while he spoke about his vision for Belize - IF he is ever elected prime minister - many viewers were hung up on him calling himself the "Leader of the House of Representatives" when in reality he is only the leader of the opposition - a minority of five.
So today we asked the PM - who really is the Leader of the House?
Jules Vasquez:
"Who is the leader of the House of Representatives? I heard Shyne Barrow saw on a big American television show that he is."
Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"You're being your usual self, mischievous, I think he misspoke, he's the leader of the opposition and by virtue of being the leader of the PUP and the prime minister, I am the leader of the House."
Jules Vasquez:
"So you are the leader, so he took your name?"
Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"That's okay, I think he misspoke as usual, always putting his foot in his mouth but I guess hopefully he will learn soon."
Courtney Menzies:
"Do you think that he's doing a lot for Belize, going abroad and promoting Belize like he has, I mean even Fat Joe said everybody's looking at Belize now."
Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"Yeah but he's making a fool of himself and they're looking at us as a laughing stock when he's there promoting but he's there promoting himself, not promoting Belize, so talking about Belize, he's a rapper, now he's a leader, becoming prime minister, when he's not talking about Belize itself, the beauty of Belize, the people, the challenges, and things that can be done, it's a self promoting tour and not about Belize."
