Accountant General's Vehicle Caught In Crossfire
Wed, March 9, 2022
And in the midst of the gang activity, last night, the Accountant General's vehicle was also hit. It was around 9:35pm when over a dozen shots were heard at the intersection of McKenzie Street and Complex Avenue, in the Lake Independence area. It was the result of a crossfire between a group in a vehicle and a man on a bicycle. No one was injured, but the Accountant General's RAV4 was damaged to the left passenger door. The ComPol spoke about this today.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"That happened last night as well and we believe that was a follow up to what happened on Logwood Street and thankfully no one was injured in that particular incident. We have also received information as to who is the person behind that shooting. We are in search of that individual and it goes back to what we have said earlier that there are some of these young men who obviously don't want to change and want to continue live this lifestyle. If it is that you have pledge to do something and you have persons who are coming at you agitating violence, then the reasonable thing for you to do is to walk away or you inform the interventionist. Mr. Dawson is always available, he answers his phone anytime in the day or night and let Mr. Dawson know, this is happening between me and this individual or me and this group and seek his intervention. He certainly would come out and do what he can to quell the situation, but when you take a gun and you go and hunt for the other party, then that clearly shows that you are weak and that you have no intention of changing."
