On Monday we told you that a woman who had been missing for almost a week was found dead on Saturday. Her body was discovered near mile 40 on the Hummingbird Highway. At the time, police were unsure of how she died, since there were no visible injuries. They did not classify it as foul play.
But tonight, we can confirm that 30-year-old Belmopan resident, Celia Florian was murdered. Yesterday, a postmortem examination was conducted and the results revealed that she had been manually strangled and also received blunt force injuries to the head.
Florian was a mother of three, and on Monday, her family was too shaken up to speak. Police are currently investigating her murder. Reliable reports tell us that a police officer is among the suspects being looked at for this crime.
