He left a high-ranking very well paid diplomatic posting on acrimonious terms,
fired by Minister of Foreign Affairs Godfrey Smith. But it seems, in the good
old government service, well connected contract officers never go away, they
just get re-posted. And that's what happened to Former Ambassador Stuart Leslie
who is the new Chief Elections Officer.
The Former Ambassador to the United Nations will officially replace Myrtle
Palacio on Friday but he was sworn in this morning at the Elections and Boundaries
main office inside the Complex Building on Mahogany Street.
Former Elections Chief Myrtle Palacio is now the Director of the Office of
Governance. Palacio's office will responsible for public sector reform initiatives,
human and public service management, and overall good governance practices.
Myrtle Palacio was the chief elections officer from 1999.
