| And one more issue coming out of the convention is, "what's next for Emil Torres?" He may have finished a close third in the balloting, but the car salesman we dubbed the "fastest mouth in the west" was certainly was the most entertaining character we've met in politics in a while. So, we asked him if he plans to run for UDP mayor of Belmopan:
Emil Torres, Defeated Candidate
"If this is the end for Emil Torres in politics, boss, this is the start."
Jules Vasquez
"Are you going to run for mayor?"
Emil Torres, Defeated Candidate
"Ahm, I don't know. Let's do the post-mortem after this. Let's discuss that. Really and truly, I don't see it, but I won't throw nothing off the table. Let's discuss, lets focus, let's see exactly where we are going to go after this."
Torres has indicated that he would like to offer himself for the next Belmopan seat when that constituency is likely split into two as part of the re-districting exercise.
