Tonight, a well known Ladyville barber is behind bars, accused of murdering his girlfriend and his brother.
While details are still sketchy, initial reports were that 38-year-old Miguel Encalada had found the victims, 50-year-old Desiree Gonzalez and 25-year-old George Rochester, having an affair and then killed them.
However, since then, other reports have emerged stating that Encalada may have lured his brother to his home before he killed him, hours before police were called to the scene.
So, was this a crime of passion or an act of madness?
Courtney Menzies spent all afternoon outside at the couple's home in Ladyville and has this report:
The home of a Ladyville couple turned into a crime scene today after reports of a double murder emerged. The community became even more alarmed when they learnt that the victims were 50-year-old Desiree Gonzalez and 25-year-old George Rochester, and that the perpetrator knew them well.
38-year-old Miguel Encalada was detained after he was found inside the house with the two bodies - and after he took this disturbing selfie with them.
But while speculations of a "love triangle" gone wrong are running wild, the police aren't making any definitive statements yet.
Senior Supt. Reymundo Reyes, Deputy Comm., Operations, ED
"Sometime after 12pm information was received of a shooting incident at this address where police made checks and discovered the lifeless body of two individuals inside the house and as a result the investigators were called in along with the scenes of crime to process the scene."
"At this present moment we know that we have the body of a male person which what appears to be head injuries as well as a female. The investigation is somewhat pretty young at this moment, we have one person in custody who we intend to interview as well as other relatives to try to establish what actually transpired or if they could assist with the investigation."
Courtney Menzies:
"Initial motive?"
Senior Supt. Reymundo Reyes, Deputy Comm., Operations, ED
"Not at this moment, during the interviews we intend to discover what is the motive if we can establish that at the end of the day."
Courtney Menzies:
"The suspect was found on the scene"
Senior Supt. Reymundo Reyes, Deputy Comm., Operations, ED
"At the time when the police arrived, yes, he was inside the house."
And the reason why this crime has left this community confused is because, as far as they know, Gonzalez and Encalada have had a peaceful relationship over the last three years, and even owned a restaurant - D's Bistro - and a barber shop, both of which they ran from inside their home - now a murder scene.
Diamond Valenc emains in a stable condition
The chairman of the village said he could never have expected something like this would happen.
Bernardo Bennett, Chairman, Ladyville
"I know the family very well, Miguel and Desiree and the young man George, I heard the three names involved, they own a business right behind us, Big Mama's Restaurant and I come here a lot, visiting them, and very productive, they seemed very happy together, owning their business and living life so this is definitely a shock to this community."
"Ms Desiree and Miguel, all of us grew up in Ladyville, all of us grew up going to primary school and then to high school so it's unbelievable."
"She's an outgoing person, productive person, all into business and trying to prosper in life. Like I said, they were two persons who were really in their business wanting to make life and people always come to their establishment to have fun and they seem jovial so something like this happen, we're still in shock"
Gonzalez leaves behind six children, while Rochester has one toddler son.
Encalada has been cutting hair since he was a teenager, and recently moved his business into his home.
Gonzalez's family explained off the record that the couple did not seem to have any problems, and that Encalada never showed signs of violence before.
