Kenneth Mortis of the National Fire Service told us more today in a press briefing. He says it started inside the Barrier Reef Sports Bar:

"Because of that particular fire, we determined it to be a result of an electrical flaw. What happened is the wiring that sustained electricity to the food cooler was acting up. And apparently this was known to the owner of the establishment prior to."

"Again, all this has to do with how much do you value what you struggle to be, what you struggle to call my place of business or my place of home. If you have observed or observing something that has your light flickering, these lights just won't flicker for flicker sake. Whether it be a bulb that needs changing, it's giving you a sign and these are the signs that you must most act upon."
