He was the legal advisor to the UDP - but attorney OJ Elrington has stepped down from that executive post - reportedly to spare his party the scrutiny resulting from an ongoing police investigation. We understand that while he faces no charges - Elrington has also been relieved of all party posts.

He was the party's losing candidate for the Freetown constituency in the 2020 election and had not expressed an interest in contesting again.
