And the following night, a cop was killed near the Roaring Creek Bridge. Police say PC Dylan Anthony was a victim of mistaken identity. His murder is part of the reason why the SOE has also been extended to include the "Another World" area. The Commissioner said that the loss is personal, since he spoke with Anthony often. But even if he wasn't a cop, they would still be going after the murderer.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Certainly the death of Anthony is extremely tough for us. Anthony work at headquarters right beside my office and I used to see him everyday, very big, humble, respectable young man. As a matter of fact, I always joke with him when I pass him and he always has that good sense of humor and that big smile on his face, I certainly will miss his presence and I want to assure his family that we will do all we can to find those persons who are responsible for his demise. I don't want to hear that it's a case of mistaken identity. the fact is that they killed someone and as much as it bothers us is a police but who the person is that they killed shouldn't have to do with it. we currently have the suspects in custody, we believe we have the two gunmen in custody and they are currently being interview by the CIB in Belmopan, major crimes, and we are hoping that we should be able to make some significant progress by the end of today where that is concerned."
