Many Belizeans suffered through blackouts today and will have to do so again tomorrow. That's because - even though the Westlake Gas Turbine generator came back online last week Thursday night - today CFE went off line between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. The Mexican power company is upgrading its line to accommodate the Tren Maya in the Chetumal area - and that's the reason for the outage.
Today outages were effected across Belize from Toledo to Belize - including San Pedro to Cayo and it will continue tomorrow.
Outages were originally planned for Corozal, San Ignacio, Dangriga and. Independence, but that was later revised to include only parts of Corozal.
