| Mason Kidnapping Trial Will Start |

Also appearing at the Belmopan High Court Today was William Danny Mason. He is expected to begin trial on Monday for the kidnapping of Mennonite businessman Lloyd Thiessen and his wife, Rosie that occurred in May of 2016.
The DPP was asking for a change of venue for the trial, but it was denied.
The kidnapping allegedly occurred at Mason's ranch at Mile 31 of the George Price Highway. Mason - with the help of 4 other me - reportedly kidnapped the couple after a business deal went sour
Theisen had reportedly paid Mason $300,000 to import corn into Belize but the corn was not delivered. Mason then allegedly kidnapped Thiesen along with his wife when they went to confront him. They were both later released and Mason was charged.
