If you follow the news regularly, you're very accustomed to hearing about UDP drama. But tonight, the drama has turned into chaos. That's after the party's central executive yesterday voted to kick out four of its top generals: Tracy Panton, Patrick Faber, John Saldivar and 2nd Deputy Leader, Beverly Castillo.

They are the principal movers behind the party's splinter faction called the Alliance For Democracy and the Central Executive led by Shyne Barrow voted yesterday to consider them all "constructively resigned".

Now, if you're not familiar with that term, it is reserved for persons who have acted deliberately and repeatedly against the interests of their organization.

And, a decision from the Central Executive says they did just that. The resolution states, quote, "Tracy Panton, Patrick Faber, John Saldivar and Beverly Williams are deemed constructively resigned as members of the UDP due to their repeated violations of the UDP Constitution…".

The resolution adds that two National Party Council Resolutions prohibit those violations, quote "and calls for immediate removal of any member found in breach." End quote.

The resolution also refers to the "Alliance for Democracy" as a "splinter party led by Tracy Panton" which it calls "blatant violations of the UDP Constitutional prohibition of factionalism."

In a release, the Alliance for Democracy said "this has to be the most absurd motion that Shyne Barrow has proposed and passed through…"

In a post today Tracy Panton states, "I have not constructively resigned and I am not going anywhere."

And Patrick Faber also made a defiant post saying,

"The longest serving member of parliament, former chairman, deputy party leader/ deputy PM and former party leader... do you really think you can constructively resign me? LMAO!!"

But, they really did. The UDP has already put out an ad inviting applications for Belmopan, which is John Saldivar's constituency. And, we expect we may see the same in Panton's Albert, Faber's Collett and Williams's Belize Rural Central.
