Father And Son Stabbed Selling Alcohol After Carnival
Mon, September 23, 2024
And that wasn't the only vicious stabbing after the Orange Walk carnival. A father and son were also attacked - and tonight that son, a BDF soldier, is clinging to life at the KHMH.

At around 8:00 pm in the aftermath of the Carnival 28 year old Francis Bustamante and his father Francis Sr were selling beer form under a tent when they got into a dispute with a dark skinned man. Things quickly escalated and the man stabbed them both - injuring Francis Jr to the chest and neck. Police told us more:

ACP Hilberto Romero
"Police visited the northern regional hospital where they found Francis Bustamante Sr. and Francis Bustamante Jr. with stab wounds. Information is that they were working at a bar in Orange Walk during the carnival when they were approached by a male person who began to argue with them, a fighting ensued, at which point this person pulled out a knife and stabbed them both. They are at the hospital recovering."

"Francis Bustamante Sr. is in a stable condition and Francis Bustamante Jr. is in a critical condition at this time. Again, we have no suspects in regards to this stabbing."

Reporter
"Any details as to what may have led to that argument?"

ACP Hilberto Romero
"Some argument over some drinks that this person wanted to purchase because the Bustamantes were working at a bar at the area."

Tonight Francis Sr has been released from the hospital while Francis Jr has been transferred to the KHMH. As you heard, police have no suspects.
