Those were the most serious violent incidents after the Carnival - but there were a few more stabbings and fights.
The town had a strong police presence but the combination of excess alcohol and carnival energy led to all kinds of chaos after the carnival.
Romero said police did all they could to contain it:

"But it begs the question in terms of what the police department was doing, how effective was their approach to police?"
ACP Hilberto Romero
"There was adequate amount of police personnel, police in that event, large crowds and so these incidents occurred in different areas, but there were a large number of police that were at that kind of a working."

"Yet police was unable to...."
ACP Hilberto Romero
"Again, we cannot prevent everything. These incidents occurred in different areas. So as soon as we got the information, we responded. But that is what we have at this time."
