BTL Showed Strong Profits In Last Financial Year

Belize Telemedia Limited today held its 18th Annual General Meeting. It was a virtual event where the Chairman underscored the company's continued growth in revenue:

"Fiscal Year 2023-2024 has been a period of significant growth for us."

"In terms of total revenues, we were up 1% to 152.9%. Our net operating profit after tax was 25 million, which was an increase of 16% year -on -year."

"And our earnings per share was 46 cents, an increase of 15% year -on -year. And for the total year for Fiscal Year 2023 ended March 24, we had net income of $24.9 million. And for this year, which is the year we are in right now, we are planning to be about $26.7 million, so it's about a 7% increase."

BTL forecasts a 3% growth in revenue and a 7% growth in net income in the next financial year.

But, what consumers who are often on the road will want to know is…when will their network of cell towers grow to cover all areas on the Southern and Coastal Highways.

The Chairman addressed that today:

"Our goal of providing mobile services along the coastal highway and southern highway is on track, with an additional two towers on the coastal highway only awaiting electricity supply to come on stream."

BTL currently has 171 mobile cell sites countrywide.
