| BTV Urges Foreign Minister to Make Strong UN Speech |

Minister of Foreign Affairs Francis Fonseca will address the General Debate of the United Nations tomorrow and the Belize Territorial Volunteers are urging him to send a strong message to Guatemala.
In a release they ask that he, quote, "deliver a powerful and unequivocal message…it is imperative that we assert our national pride and defend our sovereignty on the global stage.
Recent events have shown the blatant disregard for our territorial integrity, as the Guatemalan Armed Forces brazenly violated Belizean sovereignty just weeks ago. This alarming incident, where armed forces entered our territorial waters and rammed a vessel filled with innocent civilians - women and children among them - must not go unmentioned. Furthermore, we call on the Hon. Fonseca to highlight the ongoing incursions into our precious Chiquibul and Columbia Forest Reserves..." End quote.
Fonseca will make the penultimate address in tomorrow's afternoon session and we will carry it on channel 7 and on our social media pages.
