"On Sunday the 29th day of September, 2024, police responded to a report of a rape at Rancho Dolores in the Belize District where a complainant reported that she was inside her bedroom when a male person entered her room and proceeded to rape her. Investigators visited the scene, recorded statements, and we have one suspect in custody in regards to this rape."

And in another disturbing report of sexual assault - a Belize City woman was abducted and threatened at gunpoint by a taxi man. The 26 year old says she left her grandfather's house on Faber's Road at 11:30 last night when she got a cab. He ended up holding her at gunpoint and taking her to a house on Faber's Road Extension, where he forced her into a room. She tried to escape but he held her and also asked her to have sex which she refused. She was not able to get free until 6:00 this morning, which is when she rushed to the police station to make a report. No one has been detained so far.
