| Villager Accused Of Raping Woman With Down Syndrome |

| A 22 year old man has been remanded for raping a 23 year old woman with Down Syndrome.
It happened in a village in Rural Belize so we will not release the name or image of the accused to protect the victim.
This afternoon, the accused - who is form the same village - appeared unrepresented before a Magistrate in Court #5 where he was read a single charge of rape.
He allegedly attacked the woman whilst she was sleeping inside her home. The accused was remanded until December 2, 2024.
