He's the Costa Rican conman who died mysteriously in his jail cell. And, now a post mortem has been conducted on Costa Rican Conman Christopher D'Angelo Alvarado.

It confirms that he died of "Acute Respiratory Failure due to Severe Pulmonary Edema" - which means that he had respiratory failure resulting from fluid buildup in the lungs. Further tests are being conducted to better understand the underlying factors that may have led to this condition, such as possible drug use, poisoning, or disease.

The 40 year old Alvarado was found foaming and unresponsive in his cell on September 20th. He had been in San Pedro for his trial all that week and was just returned to the prison the evening before. He had no known medical issues.

Alvarado's name burst into the headlines in February when a number of high end resorts in Placencia and San Pedro accused him of running up bills of over one hundred thousand dollars in bills and not paying.
