DFC Looks To Its Clients Concerns
Tue, October 8, 2024
It might qualify as news about as exciting as watching paint dry….but the Development Finance Corporation today launched its corporate relations department.

In corporate speak, it's an attempt to better align their services with the specific needs of different client segments.

It may sound rarefied, but it's an important public facing milestone for the lending institution, and here's what they had to say about it today at the Biltmore.

Raineldo Guerrero, Chairman, Board of DFC
"It means that we have separated a certain part of DFC to deal specifically with our Large customers, which is the productive sector to a large degree tourism in fact, I did not mention tourism in there the productive sector is the one that deals with the bananas citrus, sugar, aquaculture, and also tourism, but we are talking about loans like over $1 million and so it is pushing our developmental mantra and so with this there is a focus now. The other part deals with mortgages and education. It's not any less than that but the quantum of the loan is much less, and so we decided that we would put a new focus on the corporate side of the business, especially the productive sector."

Shanelle Reneau, DFC, Chief Lending Officer
"Today we are launching our corporate relations department, which is a significant milestone for the DFC. I believe it has been a long time coming. We have a number of changes in the DFC to align our strategic goals and objectives with the public relations department and what it signifies. Basically we are moving more towards a client centric approach, focusing on our clients needs and providing these support that they need for business growth. For DFC our mandate is to have social and economic growth, and everything that we do and it's only fitting at this point in time to align that with the corporate relations department and the services that they would provide."
