| Woman Shot In The Neck Survives |

A woman was almost killed last night when she was shot to the neck. It happened in Belize City around 8:45 on Santa Barbara Street in the Martin's area. 48 year old Mary Flowers was leaving Kirk Smith's home, but a gunman was waiting in an open lot to ambush her. Two shots were fired and one of them hit her in the neck. She fell to the ground on Smith's veranda and was rushed to the KHMH for medical attention.
A Gunshot also damaged the window of a home in an adjoining yard. Police were unable to get any useful information from area residents or from surveillance cameras in the area.
Flowers is in a stable condition.
