And, while Shyne is front and center at the premieres, his former label boss, Sean P Diddy Combs is watching from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. And he's not happy with what's in the documentary. News emerged this weekend that Combs has sent a cease-and-desist letter to the documentary filmmakers. US news outlets report that Diddy is not trying to block the release of the film - but was looking to "ensure" that the facts were straight after Shyne alleged the he took the fall for Diddy in the infamous 1999 nightclub shooting.
Last night, Shyne was unfazed and seemed glad for the publicity:
Shyne Barrow
"I haven't received anything and Disney has not informed me of such."
Jules Vasquez
"Okay, but is that a concern that basically they are saying, stop showing the documentary."
Shyne Barrow
"Well, it's still number one on Hulu. I think maybe Alien, which is like one of the biggest franchises ever, maybe it took us out of the number one spot, but the documentary is still up on Hulu and that's a Disney question. They have not informed me of anything and that's a $200 billion company, so I'm sure they have lawyers to deal with it. If there's anything that helps the documentary, because while we had peak as far as media, that coming out lets more people want to go to Hulu, so please go to Hulu and check to make sure that it's still there."
