And while Puerto is walking away from the wreck of the UDP, the PUP Chairlady of Succotz village has also tendered her resignation in frustration.
In a lengthy letter to the Prime Minister on December 30th, Sherel Cocom explained that she just can't get along with the PUP area representative Jorge Milin Espat. Cocom reminds the Prime Minister that she raised the matter with him in December, but concludes, quote, "you stated you will talk to him and reach out back to me, which I think you might have forgotten due to your busy schedule." End quote.
She says that the Area Representative has put her to one side and placed the Vice Chairlady as the Chairlady so she's stepping down.
We noted that the Chairlady was not at the opening of the Xunantunich Visitors' Center in December. In her letter she says "I am not against development but consult the leader of the village before constructing any building."
