Belize will have a new Chief Magistrate and she is a Belizean. Senior Magistrate Deborah Rogers has been informed by the Judicial and Legal Services Commission, she will be promoted to the post of Chief Magistrate effective 21st March 2025.
Rogers had interviewed for the post.
She replaces Sri Lankan Jayani Wegadapola who will have served for just about one year.
