Court Of Appeal Weighs Urgent Application From Ramlogan, He Attempts To Go Around Them To The CCJ
Mon, March 3, 2025
It was a busy day in the courts today with multiple political cases going to the Court of Appeal.

First, a case management conference was held virtually at the Court of Appeal for Jerry Enriquez and his attorney Anand Ramlogan. Enriquez is asking the court to stop the March 12th election because the voters list - in its current state - violates the constitution. He asked for an urgent application to hear an expedited appeal of the decision of Justice Hondora from two weeks ago. The court said it will have to decide whether he's entitled to be heard on an urgent basis. A court hearing date will be set as soon as available thereafter at the Court of Appeal.

But that's not fast enough for Ramlogan - who - in an unprecedented turn - has made a filing to the Caribbean Court of Justice - attempting to appeal the case management guidance!

He is asking for an order reversing the case management orders made by the Court of Appeal today. Legal experts we spoke to say that has never even been attempted, so we'll let you know what that Apex court says.

Ramlogan, it should be noted - has now also joined the Roody Wade/Belize Peace Movement election challenge - and that case is going to the High court tomorrow.
