It's been almost a month since three American women were found dead at Royal Kahan Beach Resort in San Pedro. While early reports suggested an overdose, new information says evidence is emerging that it could have been carbon monoxide poisoning. As we told you, one Trip Advisor review stated that the guest's carbon monoxide monitor was reading levels of 400 parts per million - when 5 parts per million is considered the safe limit.
Today, the Chief Environmental Officer Anthony Mai confirmed to our newsroom that they have done tests and found carbon monoxide present in the room. He would not disclose the levels. Unconfirmed reports to our newsroom say that the levels were above 500 PPM.
Notably, the hotel closed very suddenly last Friday.
