Thea Takes Over Aunt's Ministry
Mon, March 17, 2025
And though Garcia Ramirez took over her aunt's ministry, she says she will depend heavily on Balderamos Garcia. But did she get the role out of favoritism since her mother is the PM's CEO? Here's what she says.

Reporter:
"There must be some sort of disappointment among some of your colleagues even those who have experience and yet a couple of them even got minister of state positions."

Thea Garcia Ramirez, Minister of Human Dev., Family Support, & Gender Affairs
"I think you'll have to ask them about how they feel, I don't generally like to speak on anyone's feeling except my own."

Reporter:
"But I mean you know how these things go. Do you feel like there's some level of favoritism going on here?"

Thea Garcia Ramirez
"I think that the call to serve comes from the prime minister, I believe it is his choice so you'll have to ask him why he chose but generally I will tell you that women we have to work 2, 3 times harder than men to get half of the recognition if we're lucky sometimes so I know that my prime minister sees me for a hard worker, sees me for someone who delivers, see me as someone who doesn't mind working in the background or in any capacity which he feels that he needs to put me. I was ready to serve just in my own constituency if that's what he chose."
