On Tuesday you heard the station officer at the National Fire Service call on the City Council to work with them in demolishing abandoned buildings that are fire hazards. But today the mayor said it's not so easy. If it were, he explained that there would be much more opportunities for the council to take advantage of all that space. But as he puts it, those buildings all have owners despite being abandoned.
