The Tale of the Paper with Names and the Drug Plane

Untitled Document Last night we told you about eyebrow raising evidence seeming to implicate two police officers - a Corporal and an Inspector in the landing of a drug plane one week ago in Graham Creek, Toledo District.

As they say in the mob movies - "their names are on a paper". But are those names on a paper, or on a picture of a paper? The difference may seem semantic - but in this case it's pivotal. Jules Vasquez reports:

It's just a piece of paper - but the four names written on it with phone numbers and dollar amounts could prove to be pivotal evidence in determining what local parties are responsible for facilitating this drug plane landing one week ago.

Jules Vasquez
"These people who are detained because their names were on a paper which said, which listed all the persons who received money. And it said that these officers by name had received 50,000 USD to facilitate this drug plane landing. Is that evidence that you all did not believe was credible or you all have chosen to overlook?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Again, I don't think it is going to be fair for you to say that we overlooked anything. Like you rightly said, those officers were brought in, just as we would have done with any ordinary person. They went through the mills."

But, tonight, this is really the question: Is this the image of a piece of paper found near the improvised airstrip in Graham Creek - or was the image taken from this satellite phone - which was found in the custody of a Graham Creek Villager.

The compol says it was not taken from the phone:

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"These people, their names are on a paper or on a, I should say, on a satellite phone related to this entire narco activity in Graham Creek."

"No, that's not true. Their names were not on no satellite phone."

The commissioner says the names were found on a paper near the plane - which considering it has the accurate phone numbers of these officers would be quite an incredible find in the middle of the Toledo jungle.

And what about this paper? It has the names of 39 persons - all with Maya names. We are told an image of this list was also found on the cell phone. What was on the phone is pivotal because reports tell us it was wiped by someone in law enforcement before it was handed over to investigators.

One man who was found in the area is this Guatemalan - with 39 thousand quetzales on him - about 10 thousand Belize dollars. He reportedly told police he got it from cattle sales.

The Commissioner says those named police officers have agreed for their devices to be searched by the DEA.
